I accidentally discovered this great piece of software when I downloaded another software title for a trial period. The trial software is called Xara Xtreme. It’s used for illustration and graphics and one of the best its class. But what I didn’t know was that another great software title from the same company is also installed free to use when Xara Xtreme is installed. It’s called Xara Picture Editor.
When installed, Xara Picture Editor automatically takes the place of your Microsoft Picture Viewer, the software that automatically opens your pictures in your folders when double-clicked. Windows Picture and Fax Viewer is installed on all PC computers having Windows operating systems. It is weak compared to Xara Picture Editor. Xara Picture Editor looks almost identical to the Windows counterpart when opened. But once you fool around with it, you’ll see it’s got more muscle. It allows you to edit the pictures instead of just view them. It includes many great options like crop, color enhancements, rotation, and many plug-ins. It’s so easy to use, my wife, who only uses computers for email and designing cards, figured out how to use it in no time flat.

She uses it all the time and I hardly ever have to come over to the computer to help her out anymore. She edits the pictures on her own now.

If you are into picture editing, this software in no way replaces the more robust software titles that are solely geared towards editing pictures. But this is a great enhancement to any PC if you like to save time and want to be able to edit pictures quickly when viewing them in folders.
