Using Live Writer

First download Windows Live Writer and install it on your computer.

Open Live Writer and setup a Weblog Account. If the software doesn’t prompt you to setup an account, which it should, then go to Weblog at the top of the window, then click on Add Weblog Account.

A new window will open. Click on Another weblog service and the Next button.

In the next window, type in the URL of your blog. It should be like this: http://kansaiconnect.com/members/yourname then fill in your username and password and click Next.

The software will try to find your site, but it won’t because you aren’t finished yet.

In the next window, select WordPress custom installation. In the next box below, type in your URL plus the xmlrpc.php. It will look like this: http://kansaiconnect.com/members/yourname/xmlrpc.php and then click Next.

The software will then try to find your weblog. If you correctly put the information, your username and password into the settings, it should work perfectly. If not, try it again. You most likely typed in something wrong.

If the software prompts you about your photos being uploaded to your blog, choose to allow Live Writer to upload to your blog.

If everything worked, then you should now be able to write to your blog from Live Writer and post images to the site.

Live Writer is a nice piece of software and enables you to customize your blogs in WYSIWYG editing. It also allows you to specify your picture layout.
