Everyone likes to get comments. Getting them makes you feel like you’ve written something worth while. However, if you get comments, the layout can sometimes be a pain. Many comments get posted unrelated to the previous comment. Readers, even administrators, end up having to read through tons of other comments to find out what comment the other comment was related to. Did you follow that?

Say you make a comment. Then someone else comes along and comments on your comment. But in between their comment, someone else comes to the site and posts a comment on the comment before yours. That comment gets posted below yours, but isn’t really related to your comment. The comment after theirs is related to yours. You follow me now?

Reading through commenting areas like that can be a difficult task.

So without further ado, install WP Thread Comments or turn this plugin on inside your Plugin section of KansaiBlogger.

This plugin gives visitors the opportunity to reply to individual comments. The default WordPress setup automatically puts the newest comment at the end of the list. This plugin gives the user an option to reply to other’s comments so that their comment will be displayed directly beneath the previous comment.

It helps organize comments much better and rids people of the strain hunting for understanding.

Try posting a comment to one of the comments below to see just how this plugin works!

A great thing to do is to pretend you are a visitor to your own site. Go to the front page and see how things are laid out. If you like it, then go and read an article. Once you click on the article see if you can find anything else related to that article on the site. Are you having a problem finding other related articles? Well, you won’t if you use the Related Post plugin.

The Related Posts plugin helps visitors to your site find other articles with similar tags and topics. Your visitors will see a list of other articles at the bottom of a post where they can click and read deeper into your site.

If you don’t have this plugin, download and install it on your site. For KansaiBlogger.com bloggers, this plugin is already installed in your dashboard area.

Go to your Plugins area and activate Related Posts.

The longer visitors stay on your site, the better the relationship you can begin building with that person…and if that happens, they will visit your site more often and possibly comment as well.

Someone emailed me a computer question early early this morning waking me up because I had forgotten to turn my phone on vibrate mode. The question was about smilies. She asked if KansaiBlogger users could put smilies in their posts and pages. Of course, since it was so early in the morning, I went back to sleep and didn’t reply until later.

The answer to her question is YES people can type in smilies in their blogs, posts and pages. But at that time, I had had smilies turned off. I don’t know why, but they were.

As for now, smilies are turned on and anyone using KansaiBlogger can now type in smilie codes to place them in your blog posts or pages, or comments even.

If you wish to use a different set of smilies, they are readily available in your plugins for you to activate and use. Just select the one you wish to use with your site.
